  On the flight from San Diego to Denver I had a window seat and was able to take some photos of the mountains around southern California. I could recognize most of the prominent peaks and some of the less prominent ones. It was amazing to see the mountains I have hiked from this vantage point.

  Southern California has been inundated with rain and snow this past week. The HPWREN cam on Toro peak caught a view of all this snow as the latest storm was rolling out. Here is the image:

  This past Friday the high country received the first snow of the season! Hopefully this will be a wet winter and we will have many more similar days in the near future.
